カンボジア

カンボジア, known in English as Cambodia, is a country located in Southeast Asia. Bordered by Thailand to the northwest, Laos to the north, and Vietnam to the east and south, Cambodia has a rich cultural heritage influenced by its historical association with the Khmer Empire, which flourished from the 9th to the 15th century. The capital and largest city is Phnom Penh. The official language is Khmer, and the currency is the Cambodian riel. Cambodia is known for its ancient temples, most famously Angkor Wat, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a symbol of the nation. The country has a mixed economy based on agriculture, tourism, and manufacturing. It has a tumultuous history, particularly during the Khmer Rouge regime in the 1970s, leading to significant social and economic challenges that continue to affect its development today.
